Herb and Spice Beer - All Grain

Based on Holiday Prowler by Gordon Strong.

  • Batch Size: 6 gal (22.7 L)
  • Boil Size: 7 gal (26.5 L)
  • Boil Time: 60 mins

Ingredients

  • Grains/Fermentables
  • 10 lbs (4.54 kg) UK Pilsner 2-Row (1 °L)
  • 1 lbs (0.45 kg) Crystal 40 (40 °L)
  • 0.5 lbs (0.23 kg) Chocolate Malt (350 °L)
  • 1.5 lbs (0.68 kg) Honey (1 °L)
  • 300 g (10.58 oz) Gold malt syrup (2 °L)
  • 4 tbsp (59.15 mL) Molasses (80 °L)
  • 0.25 lbs (0.11 kg) Crystal 90 (90 °L)
  • Hops
  • 1 oz (28.35 g) Wye Challenger Pellet 5.3% AA (Boil - 60 mins)
  • 1 oz (28.35 g) Fuggle Pellet 2.9% AA (Boil - 5 mins)
  • Yeast
  • Safale S-04 (Dry)
  • Muntons Ale Yeast (Dry)

Directions

Infusion (Infusion): Mash at 158 °F (70 °C) for 60 minutes.

Recommended Sparge: 170 °F (77 °C)

Hold in primary fermentor for 14 days at 65 °F (18 °C).

Transfer to secondary fermentor for 7 days at 65 °F (18 °C).

Allow to carbonate and age for 14 days at 65 °F (18 °C).
