Recipe Description

More of a Golden Ale (Duvel) than Pale Strong. Brewed for Jim & Michelle's wedding in 2018.

  • Boil Time: 60 mins

Ingredients

  • Grains/Fermentables
  • 9.5 lbs (4.31 kg) Belgian Pilsner 2-Row (2 °L)
  • 2 lbs (0.91 kg) Table Sugar (Sucrose) (1 °L)
  • Hops
  • 0.65 oz (18.43 g) Northern Brewer Pellet 15% AA (Boil - 60 mins)
  • Yeast
  • Safbrew T-58 (Dry)

Directions

Infusion (Infusion): Mash at 150 °F (66 °C) with 3.75 gal (14.2 L) of water for 120 minutes.

Recommended Sparge: 170 °F (77 °C)

Mash 10 lbs of grain in 3.75 gallons water at 150°F for 120 minutes. Vorlauf. Lauter and collect 2.5 gallons first runnings. Sparge with 2 gallons water at 170°F. Vorlauf. Collect and boil 4.5 gallons total wort. Boil 60 minutes with hop additions as scheduled.

Hold in primary fermentor for 14 days at 65 °F (18 °C).

Transfer to secondary fermentor for 14 days at 65 °F (18 °C).

Allow to carbonate and age for 14 days at 65 °F (18 °C).
