Pumpkin Beer

  • Batch Size: 5 gal (18.9 L)
  • Boil Size: 7 gal (26.5 L)
  • Boil Time: 60 mins

Ingredients

  • Grains/Fermentables
  • 10 lbs (4.54 kg) 2-Row Malt (2 °L)
  • 1 lbs (0.45 kg) Crystal 40 (40 °L)
  • 1 oz (28.35 g) Black Barley (500 °L)
  • 2 lbs (0.91 kg) Pumpkin Chunks (5 °L)
  • Hops
  • 2 oz (56.7 g) Belma Pellet 11.6% AA (Boil - 60 mins)
  • 1 oz (28.35 g) Cascade Leaf 7% AA (Boil - 15 mins)
  • Yeast
  • California Ale Yeast (Whitelabs WLP001) (Liquid)

Directions

step (Infusion): Mash at 150 °F (66 °C) with 4 gal (15.14 L) of water for 60 minutes.

Recommended Sparge: 165 °F (74 °C)

Hold in primary fermentor for 7 days at 71 °F (22 °C).

Transfer to secondary fermentor for 7 days at 71 °F (22 °C).

Allow to carbonate and age for 14 days at 40 °F (4 °C).
