2nd attempt at a American style pale ale, this time increasing alcohol content and adding more hops

  • 0.225 kg (0.5 lb) Crystal 60 (60 °L)
  • 1.7 kg (3.75 lb) Light Dry Malt Extract (4 °L)
  • After Boil
  • 1.5 kg (3.31 lb) Light Liquid Malt Extract (4 °L)
  • Hops
  • 25 g (0.88 oz) Northern Brewer Leaf 10.5% AA (Boil - 60 mins)
  • 15 g (0.53 oz) Cascade Leaf 8.2% AA (Boil - 30 mins)
  • 30 g (1.06 oz) Cascade Leaf 8.2% AA (Boil - 15 mins)
  • 15 g (0.53 oz) Cascade Leaf 8.2% AA (Boil - 0 mins)
  • Yeast
  • pale ale yeast (Liquid)

Directions

Steep crystal malt for 30 mins pre boil

Hold in primary fermentor for 7 days at 20 °C (68 °F).

Transfer to secondary fermentor for 24 days at 20 °C (68 °F).

Allow to carbonate and age for 28 days at 18 °C (64 °F).
