Metheglin / Spiced Mead

Metheglin is a rather open style for meads made with additional spices. Common spices used include ginger, orange peel, coriander, cinnamon, vanilla or cloves. Taj, a common Ethiopian mead made with hops, would fall under this style as well. The strength can vary (hydromel, standard, sack) as well as the overall sweetness (dry, semi-sweet, sweet). They can be both sparkling, petillant (low-carbonation) or still.
