Morat is a special category of melomel or fruit mead which is made with mulberries. Historically this was made with a berry more closely resembling a blackberry. The strength can vary (hydromel, standard, sack) as well as the overall sweetness (dry, semi-sweet, sweet). They can be both sparkling, petillant (low-carbonation) or still. Berry character should be present but not overpowering.

The styles listed are based on the Brewers Association 2011 Style Guidelines published by Brewers Association with changes.
