- Would Make Again?: Yes
I set out to make a simple and drinkable IPA and I think I nailed it. My older brother thought it tasted a little hot but I don't think so. I has a nice amber color and a crisp hop taste. I've made quite a few IPAs and I think this one is probably my favorite so far.
It's a fairly common tasting IPA. It has a bitterness to it but it isn't overwhelming. I would say the bitterness is purposeful. It's a little strong to be a session beer but it's still quite drinkable.
Notes From Aug. 12, 2012 (Brewing)
Gravity Reading: 1.058
It's been a while since I've brewed and I had a tight schedule today but it was a pretty good brew day. I went for a 1.5 gal/lb again. The gravity came out much lower than expected and I didn't quite get 5 gallons. Still I'm excited about this beer.
Notes From Sept. 2, 2012 (Bottling/Kegging)
Gravity Reading: 1.010
Bottled up today without any major surprises. There is a nice light hop smell and a lot of hop bitterness. It was actually much more bitter than I was expecting but still good.
